Where are my entries stored?

On your phone. On iPhone, Boop can also keep a copy in your own iCloud Drive, which you can turn off in Settings. Boop has no accounts, so nobody else can read your entries, and the developer can’t restore them either.

How do I move to a new phone?

On iPhone with the iCloud copy on, install Boop on the new phone and it will offer to restore your diary. Otherwise: in Settings, choose Export backup and save the zip file somewhere you can reach from the new phone. There, install Boop and choose Restore from backup. Restoring replaces everything in the app with the backup.

The daily reminder doesn’t show up

Check that notifications for Boop are allowed in your system settings, then turn the reminder off and on again in the app.

I forgot the code to my diary

On the closed diary, tap Forgot the code and look at the phone: Face ID lets you choose a new code. Without Face ID the code can’t be reset. Then reinstall Boop and restore your diary from its iCloud copy or a backup file; what you wrote after that copy is lost.

The steps habit shows no steps

Boop reads steps from Apple Health. In iPhone Settings, open Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Boop, and allow Steps.

Privacy

Boop never collects what you write. It sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which you can turn off in Settings under Help improve Boop. Read the privacy policy.
